Prince Charles turns 65

Born on 14th November 1948, Prince Charles came into the world. The boy born to be king has had many ups and down throughout his life, not least the collapse of his marriage to Lady Diana Spencer and his subsequent marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles.

Today the man who is now the oldest heir to the throne in British history turns 65, it is a chance to remember the work he has done and continues to do with charities, the Prince’s Trust, Duchy and endless preservation work.

Prince Charles is now taking a greater role, and later this month he will sit in for the Queen at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Sri Lanka.

HRH will continue to face challenges – not least by those who believe his political views and interference is possibly damaging for the monarchy.

What is clear though is that Prince Charles will one day have the ultimate duty to Britain and the Commonwealth resting upon his shoulders.

We wish HRH Prince Charles of Wales a very happy 65th birthday.

Long may he live.
